Pots for the living room: small change, big effect
Probably everyone who has faced the daunting task of creating an interesting and eye-catching interior will agree that what “does the job” very often are the accessories. Photo frames, textiles, figurines and travel souvenirs, posters, vases and plants. And if plants, then also… pots.
Pot as a decorative motif and design element?
Until a certain point, pots were treated purely instrumentally – as containers for plants. It was the plants that were supposed to decorate, and the pots were just necessary accessories. Those days, however, are long behind us. The huge selection of pots – in various shapes, colors, and materials – allows them to be treated as decorations in their own right.
Not surprisingly, nowadays we choose pots consciously, paying attention to their style, color and quality. We are looking for products that are functional, but also unique – ones that will catch the eye and create the right mood in the interior. They will be the dot over the i in the arrangement of the space.
The heart of the house, where it is particularly worth using the decorative qualities of pots, is undoubtedly the living room. So: what are the best pots to choose for the living room?
Pots for the living room – what is worth investing in?
There is no universal recipe for a successful purchase, but there are a few aspects to consider, and a few questions to answer, before buying a pot for the living room. Designer or ascetically simple? Shiny or matte? High or low? Of what? What to put in it? Will it even fit?
We realize that choosing from a wide range of products may not be an easy task. Therefore, we provide some tips along with sample arrangements created using pots that can be purchased from our store. We hope you will find them helpful and examples of arrangements inspiring.

First: the right size and shape
This will be nothing revealing – what narrows down the options for choosing a pot for the living room, often turns out to be the amount of free space in this room.
A tall, representative cigar-type pot will fit into an empty corner next to a bookcase, while a small bowl- or vase-shaped pot will look best on a low dresser. In a large living room divided into functional zones (or in a living room with an open kitchen and dining room), it is worth placing a pot in the form of a partition, which will help separate, for example, the dining and lounge areas. And in a small living room or in a room with high walls (such as living rooms in some townhouses), a hanging pot will work best – on the one hand it will not take up too much space, on the other it will allow you to arrange the space vertically.

Second: matching style
While it is possible to find universal products that fit in with everything, it is generally important to remember that not every pot will actually fit equally well in every living room. It’s worth looking for one that really adds charm to the living room and helps create a “wow” effect!
Therefore, before buying pots, we advise you to analyze your interior in terms of the entire arrangement and accessories. For modern-style living rooms often fit different pots than for traditional interiors, what looks good in a room maintained in the currently fashionable japanese style, and what looks good in a living room decorated in Scandinavian style. Sometimes it is better to go for a simple, monochromatic pot, and in other cases – invest in gradients, gilding or unusual, original texture. Well, and the key is that the pot should hit the taste of the residents! They just have to like it.

Third: color
This aspect connects to the previous one, because it is not uncommon for a certain style of arrangement to determine the color of accessories. There are two trends: on the one hand, you can opt for something matching the color scheme of the entire living room (this is what we often do when creating a Scandinavian-style space), opting for consistency, on the other – go wild with contrast (for example, in modern or eclectic interiors).

Fourth, but extremely important: quality!
When choosing pots for the living room, it is essential to think about the material they are made of and the way the product is made. Better materials, careful finishing, refinement in every detail are the advantages of these pots, which will decorate the interior for years. It is worth remembering that the cheapest pots may not look the best after some time, they are more easily damaged and are often quite heavy. Our advice is to invest in lightweight and sturdy pots that are both durable and beautiful. Among other things, we recommend to our living room customers pots made of materials such as fiberglass, fiberclay, fiberstone, resin, glaze and natural materials (clay, rattan, wicker, stone, and – as a finishing material – shells and even banana leaves!). Pots of this kind can be found in our offer.

As for the pot in the living room?
Finally, the last question remains: what to put in the pot chosen for the living room? The most obvious answer comes to mind first – a plant. Which one? It also depends on many factors, including how much space we have, what we like, how much light there is in our living room, well, and what kind of pot we chose.
But a living plant is not the only solution. In living rooms where there are not good conditions for growing live plants, it is not at all necessary to give up pots. For such interiors we recommend artificial plants. Here the principles are similar – the artificial specimen should be well matched to our preferences, but also to the style of the interior and the pot itself. It should be large enough, in a matching color (similar color or contrasting), very good quality. Well, and it must appeal.
There is also nothing to prevent you from putting … absolutely nothing into the pots placed in the living room. Properly selected pots can be decorative accents in themselves. They are simply beautiful objects that will fill an empty corner, introduce color against a bright wall, enliven the space, and add sparkle to the arrangement. Arranged individually or in a group of several pieces, they will catch the eye as an original – because they stand alone! – decoration.
